About Me

I'm Håkon, a developer located in Vestfold, Norway and I'm currently employed as a Senior Developer at Amiblu.

I've got a master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Oslo, Norway, and I've got a passion for systems development and distributed systems, and how different applications integrate with each other. During my career I've got experience with:

  • Software architecture
  • Software development
I'm fully for API first, Contract First and Behaviour Driven Development as I think those concepts are important and brings with them a nice way of working. I also prefer a Linux distribution as my OS of choice, with MacOS as a backup, as I personally find the development experience on Windows to be subpar.

My passion for software development started when I was around 10 years old and I discovered a binder full of printed pages with Pascal code. In hindsight I've realised that the code was quite simple, but it was enough to kindle an interest in me.

At about the same time I got my hands on a demo cd with a free version of Delphi, and after a quick trip to the library I came home with an entry level book on Delphi programming. The book was written in Norwegian, which made it quite understandable for me.

My first applications were simple, and I had it mainly as a hobby until I started University. At the university I learned Java, which was the first language I started using professionally. After I moved away from Oslo, C# has been the major language, and that's the language I use today.

Besides work I try to do some programming in my free time.
